Solutions
The RFID Sensor Systems product line includes tags of passive and BAP semi passive type with readout from handheld and stationary readers. Our components and small systems hardware, firmware and software provides wireless sensing solutions for several application areas. All of these tag applications are enhanced by our ultra long range UHF antennas. All of our product is compatible with international communication protocol EPC Gen2/ISO 18000-6c. We also offer active mesh network systems customized for specific partners that operate under the protocols IEEE 802.15.4 (Zig Bee) or the upcoming ISA 100 standard. On this Solutions screen we highlight some applications that use our RFID components and small systems. Our Products are available with private OEM branding and licensing to strategic partners. Selected products are also sold directly to individual clients.
Passive Sensor Tag Systems

RFID Sensor Systems’ manufactures a very economical system S008 for remote wireless readout of temperature using UHF sensor tags. This system includes “open air” ST050 and “open air/metal mount” ST070 tags that are compatible with standard industry EPC Gen2C2 readers and the RFID Sensor Systems handheld reader I003. The S008 system is targeted for applications where one or more of the following requirements are present: (1) a lowest cost sensor tag is desired, (2) the temperature will be sensed from a location to be conveniently physically entered in the future, (3) the sensor tag will also be used to store ID, (4) the tag will be used to store user data such as point of origin, destination, storage history, etc, (5) tag data readout compatible with international Gen2C2 data formats is needed for supply chain checking enterprise databases, and as a component tag within the RFID Sensor family expanding into a variety of sensor tags. The fully passive temperature sensor tag is expected to have a lifetime in excess of 30 years. The data logging semi passive tag lifetime depends on the tag readout schedule. The S008 system includes software for temperature display on the I003 handheld reader screen and also on connected PC screens.
The RFID Sensor team would like to work with partner integrators toward further customizing of our sensor-based UHF RFID tags into specific enterprise application in the 860-960 MHz frequency bands.
Tracking & Inventory Systems including Ultra Long RangeTM Passive Tags
Shipping, storage, tracking operations using EPC Gen2 class1 passive RFID systems can be greatly enhanced with the addition of our ultra long range tags. The Ranger TM tags are supplied in several forms that include open air and metal mount enclosures. Our ultra long range tags are meant to provide that extra guarantee of readability/write ability within the distance limits expected for system direct tag communications. Our arsenal of special purpose tags includes one exceptional, special purpose tag that can be imbedded into Portland cement or buried underground to provide acceptable read range for many applications.
Buffalo-tagging operation Jersey with convenient-readout RFID tag Angus with 80 feet readout tag Small animal long range collar tag
Our ultra long range EPC Gen2 cattle eartags provide the longest read/write range of any large animal eartag in the industry. We routinely obtain read range of up to 80 ft for eartags in the feedlot on heifers. Readout is obtained from both front and back of the animal. These UHF tags operate as fully passive tags. In the present generation each tag provides 512-bits of user programmable memory in addition to ID and security coding with larger memory soon to be available. The 15-digit USDA animal registration number is included in the 128 bits of ID and security coding. We expect USDA approval for our large animal eartags during 2011 following extensive testing in farm environments. RFID Sensor Systems offers highly economical handheld readers and stationary readers together with software for small animal systems with an interface into enterprise networks. Our systems expand to include an active mesh network for linking stationary readers on large farms.
Vehicle Tracking & Identification for the Fleet and also for Tollways using Long RangerTM tags

Economy fully passive tag Excellent solution for tollways RFID for trucking fleets Delhi-Guragaon toll plaza
The NJM fully passive EPC C1 Gen2 vehicle tag permits readout of ID at rates up to 200 per second at 50 feet range producing a highly reliable and robust tollway solution. The vehicle tracking and identification family of Tollway RangerTM tags use our patents pending ultra long range RFID antennas which can be configured into tag operating in the 800 MHz to 10GHz range. Our present product offering includes vehicle tags operating in the 860 to 960 MHz frequency range. We have configured a proprietary antenna design into our family of ultra long range EPC C1 Gen2 passive tags to provide the maximum range for fully passive tags in the RFID industry. In addition the reader-to-tag data rate of these tags is up to 128 kbps with a selected transponder IC which provides exceptional speed compared with other passive tags. Our vehicle tag is a strong candidate for systems providing the highest level of performance.
Our passive vehicle tags provide a highly economical solution for new vehicle tracking and toll way s planned for the future, The present generation of our tags contain up to 32k bits for miscellaneous user-programmable data. Economical passive Gen2Class2 tags with much higher memory capacity will be offered into the future. We invite opportunities to design our proprietary antenna into micropower tag circuits of strategic partners that operate on different frequency bands, especially for tollway use around the world.
